Has a lot to answer for these days, and from my line of work it's caused a huge serge in young people suffering from mental health issues.
The wife compares herself to her "friends" who post total bollocks about how great their lives are (in reality it isn't) and she often bemoans at the things she doesn't have.
My Question, is there ANYONE on here who doesn't have Social Media? I've recently deleted all my apps and find I never use my phone for anything else other than calls/texts and actually feel quite liberated by it.
On a deeper note, is social media the cause of the rising "hate" speech we seem to be hearing about constantly in the media?

For brief bouts of taking part in or (more likely)viewing people offering varying levels of intelligence and cohesive debate on divisive subjects I come here.

I dont look at facebook anymore. All it does is remind me that i grew up with a bunch of stupid, racist cunts.
I lurk on twitter as its good for breaking news and decent, honest opinion of a select group.

I only use FB to post bollocks, and pics for my old dear who doesnt get to see us much.
I know so many couples who behind closed doors hate each other, but it's all lovey dovey online.
Bird at work told me the other day her profile pic took 30 mins and 26 attempts to get it "just right". One of those one leg in front of the other, looking out to sea poses.
It's all a load of fucking bollox. I prefer mine and block's half yearly whatsapp to each other calling the other one a cunt or something. much healthier.

depends who you choose to follow. If you keep it tight, you can get some really interesting stuff. Go on it unfiltered as its a universe of pure hate.

Lots of people have got in shit at work and some have been sacked because of Facecock. It has never interested me in the slightest.
I have a twatter account, I don't post much but it's fun and useful to follow things you're interested in.

I've not had FB on my phone for a couple of years, I only randomly go on it on my computer.
I use Instagram a bit and Twitter very rarely.
Social media is in fact very anti social.
I've been with photographers who literally have to put photos online as soon as they've taken them, then interact with people thus not even enjoying what they do to enjoy themselves.
Also the Dunning Kruger effect.
Social media has given stupid people a voice, In the old days most didn't converse but now social media is full of them.
It's amazing how many people are experts on politics all of a sudden yet most people haven't even got the brain cells to use the indicators on their cars.
